About The Role

The  Early Years Alliance is the largest early years membership organisation and voluntary sector provider of quality affordable childcare and education in England. An educational charity, the Alliance represents the interests of over 14,000 member settings who deliver care and learning to over 800,000 families every year. We are looking to recruit an Early Years Development Officer.

About the Role 

This post sits within the early years development team and contributes directly to the Alliance’s strategic aims across England and beyond. The role is home-based with a blend of virtual and facetoface training delivery, and will be responsible for the design, coordination and delivery of high-quality CPD training for the early years sector. You will work collaboratively across Alliance teams to support income generation, membership and insurance growth and strong external partnerships. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver high-quality training and resources for Early Years settings via facetoface and virtual platforms
  •  Promote and support the growth and retention of membership and insurance within the early years sector
  •  Develop resources to support high-quality practice in early years provision
  •  Support early years providers to deliver high quality education and care for children
  •  Lead and facilitate network sessions for the sector
  •  Represent the Alliance at internal and external events
  •  Support funding applications and wider income generating activity
  •  Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, education and health partners, and voluntary sector organisations 

About You

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification and an adult teaching qualification
  •  Strong knowledge of child development and the early years sector
  •  Experience of supporting and promoting high quality provision within the early years sector
  •  Understanding of charity governance and business models 
  •  Experience delivering training and supporting professional practice
  •  Confidence in leading others, managing competing priorities and overseeing projects
  •  A collaborative approach and commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and families
  •  Experience of working in partnership with funders
