To provide high quality administrative functions to support the Safe at Home Scheme. The role will provide the first contact for Safe at Home Scheme for the booking of services, alongside creating and maintaining the Safe at Home database, arranging home safety visits plus the collation of data for reports. The role will involve working closely with a range of partners including Bedfordshire Fire Service to help support the co-ordination of the Safe at Home Scheme.
We are looking for a highly organised individual with excellent communication and attention to detail skills, who will be part of the public facing Safe at Home and Flying Start team. Applicants should also have recent experience of social media use.
This is a fixed term post but with a possible extension when funding is agreed.
Main duties of the role
- Provide high quality telephone or emails to Safe at Home service users and partner agencies. Maintain high quality systems which meet the identified needs, including sending joining instructions and reminders to parents.
- Support the administration of the Safe at Home Scheme, working closely with the Child Injury Prevention Officer, including collation of reports
- Provide accurate information/data input into the programme booking spreadsheets and IT systems including the Safe at Home database
- Process bookings for Safe at Home safety assessments and equipment fits working with the Bedfordshire Fire Service Fitter, including diary support.
- Provide administrative support for hosting training and workshops on virtual platforms.
Essential criteria
- Recent and demonstrable experience of working in a busy office environment with competing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build professional relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing plus communicating via social media platforms.
- Confident using IT applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc), Outlook – Teams / Zoom.
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or equivalent.
