About The Role
The Early Years Alliance is the largest early years membership organisation and voluntary sector provider of quality affordable childcare and education in England. An educational charity, the Alliance represents the interests of over 14,000 member settings who deliver care and learning to over 800,000 families every year.
 
The Alliance provides early years qualifications and apprenticeships across England.  We are looking for an Assessor/IQA to support us to deliver our high quality training programmes, including Apprenticeships, standalone qualifications and professional development programmes.
 

We are looking for experienced candidates with up-to-date knowledge of the National Occupational Standards in Child Care and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, who are keen to ensure our teaching programme remains of the highest quality and continues to produce excellent early years educators.

Main duties
  • To deliver teaching and learning that inspires and motivates learners to achieve their personal and career objectives and qualifications.
  • To plan and teach effective learning for diverse groups or individuals in a safe and inclusive environment, including in classrooms, on-line and in workplaces. Embedding English and Maths as part of training programmes.
  • To provide accurate and appropriate information, advice and guidance to learners about study, careers, qualifications, and learning needs (including additional learning needs).
  • To internal quality assure
  • To assess with fairness and integrity, ensuring that learners receive constructive and timely feedback so that they know and understand what they have achieved, and what they must do to further improve.
  
Essential Criteria 
  • Hold an accepted vocational assessor qualifications (D32 and D33, A1 and A2, QCF Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment, QCF Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement)
  • Have own transport and be willing to travel to undertake workplace assessment and monitoring visits.
  • Be confident in the use of ICT across the Microsoft suite of applications to lead, support and observe on teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Confidence in using e-portfolios.
  • Be able to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in the subject/vocational area, as well as in pedagogy of teaching.
  • An understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity and to anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Be committed to ensuring that the Alliance’s safeguarding policy and procedures are followed.
  • Have a commitment to promoting the ethos and philosophy of the Early Years Alliance.
  • Be able to meet set deadlines and organise own priorities.
  • Experience of conducting learner interviews, inductions and 12-week reviews.
  • Have knowledge and experience of apprenticeship standards and supporting learners through EPA.
  • Experience of supporting learners with Maths and English functional skills.
Mileage from an agreed base is paid at 35p per mile.
